Iranian plate
The Iranian plate or Aryan plate is an important geological formation located between the Middle East and the Central Asia. It covers the majority of Iran (approximately 2/3 of the country since the mounts Zagros while going towards the east), all the area of the Kurdistan, the Azerbaïdjan, the Afghanistan (mainly Western parts and Southerners of the country), the Western Pakistan (in the Baloutchistan as well as the southernmost and Eastern parts of the Turkménistan.
This plate extends since the chain from the Alborz to the southern part from Iran (Persian Gulf and Mer of Oman). Its Eastern limit is marked by the Hindu Kush.
