Ioupout II
Ioupout is a Pharaon discussed of; he is king of Léontopolis in the delta of -754 with -720 (or -715).
He is the son of Roudamon and exerts a power limited to Léontopolis and Thèbes.
In -747, three new kingdoms, in addition to that of Tanis and Léontopolis, are formed:
- Hérakléopolis created by Peftjaouaouibastet, son-in-law of Roudamon, which adopts royal titulature,
- Hermopolis, in the delta, created by Nimlot {{III}},
- Lycopolis, by Padimenti.
Egypt then does not count less than five kings who are hardly recognized by the Big bosses of the province of North.
Ioupout will be combined with Osorkon {{IV}} () then with Tefnakht () to try to thwart the rise to power of the king of Napata, Piânkhy (), which leads the Ethiopian invasion.
A Sheshonq {{VI}} would have perhaps reigned in Léontopolis after Ioupout but its existence is more than doubtful. The only proof of its presence is pendentive with the name S (shesh); however it can be a question of an inscription naming Sheshonq {{III}}.
