Iorwerth Eiddon Stephen Edwards
Iorwerth Eiddon Stephen Edwards is a British Egyptologist , born in London on July 21st, 1909, deceased on September 24th, 1996.
Edwards studied the construction of the ancient pyramids; its theory being that the Egyptians of antiquity used a system of slope to set up the large stones.
He wrote many letters with the archeologists on the ground in order to try to update their dating technologies to include carbon-14 tests.
Before its retirement, Edwards organized for the British Museum the exposure on Toutânkhamon in 1972. The exposure had more than 1,5 million visitors, and delivers it of Edwards, Guide to the Egyptian Collections in the British Museum , was sold with more: 300000 specimens.
Edwards spent eighty years of its consecrated life to the Egyptological research, during which he wrote and published many books concerning his life and his discoveries.
He was also Vice-Président of the Egypt Exploration Society.
