Ionel Schein

Ionel Schein (1927, Bucharest, Romania - December 30th 2004, Paris, France) Architecte French known for its work on architecture obliques. It formed in its workshop several of the great names of the French contemporary architecture Claude Parent.

Like its accomplice Claude Parent, with whom he played, of 1948 with 1955, a protestor role of troublemaker in the poor activity of the architects in vogue, Ionel Schein was, fifty years ago, one of the high-speed motorboats of the architectural creativity. Its prototype of house entirely made out of plastics, exposed to the living room of domestic Arts in 1956, then gained a great success of curiosity and press. Carried out life size, this exemplary model, which was at the origin of the proliferation of prototypes of plastic houses, after 1960, did not bring to its creator the discounted orders. Worse, its singularity will marginalize forever one of the most innovative architects of the generation according to war. Ionel Schein remained what one could call one ignored famous.

The international consideration found the " Structure conference international man and sector (the technical University of Vienna 1984) with Bruno Zevi, Refusals Sharp, Pierre Vago, Jorge Glusberg, Otto Kapfinger, Frei Otto, Paolo Soleri, Ernst Gisel, Justus Dahinden and Ionel Schein.
