Interprofessional national union for employment in industry and the trade
In France, the interprofessional National union for employment in industry and the trade (or Unedic ) is, with the Assédic and the Garp, the organism in charge of the management of the Assurance unemployment.
Unedic federates Assédic at the national level. More particularly, Unedic is responsible for the financial management of the system. It sets up the regulation decided by managements and labor, provides the means necessary to its implementation and coordinates the operation of the network of Assédic.
Unedic was created in 1958.
The president Nicolas Sarkozy committed himself amalgamating Assedic with the ANPE.
