International union of the guides and scouts of Europe

The International union of the guides and scouts of Europe (UIGSE), federates national associations of Guides and Scouts d' Europe.
Elle is recognized by the Vatican like international private association faithful .
Elle is recognized by the the Council of Europe since 1980. It sits there within the Conférence of the nongovernmental international organizations.

The majority of national associations have an approval near the authorities. For example, French association is an association of youth and popular education approved by the Minister for youth and the French sports since 1970. Each association has bonds with the local churches. Thus, always in France, the Association of the guides and scouts of Europe are recognized like catholic movement of education by the Conférence of the Bishops of France.

Organization and goal

The UIGSE sits at Castle-Landon (France). It is chaired by Giovanni Franchi De' Cavalieri. Its Federal Police chief is currently Jacques Mougenot. The Guides and Scouts d' Europe, created in 1958, accommodated in France more than 250000 young people in forty years and fall under the tradition centenary of the scouting appeared in 1907.

They also propose scouting with the young handicapped people and, in France, through the operation Big wide, with those which live in the difficult districts.

The Guides and Scouts d' Europe are independent of the Worldwide organization of the Movement Scout and the Worldwide association of the Guides and Girl guides.
