The International union of the students is founded the August 27th 1946 with Prague by 43 associations national coeds. But very quickly, it falls under the influence from the Soviet Bloc.

This association allowed the KGB sometimes and with its allies to establish its agents in the West but it was especially regularly used within the framework of active measurements to propagate the misinformation concoctée by the " Service of actives" measurements; 1st Head office of the KGB.

The Western organizations are withdrawn some. But in France, UNEF remains like observant member. The UIE gathered 152 organizations in 114 countries. Since the fall of the Soviet Block, its activity is however very weak.
