International festival of cartoon film of Annecy

The International festival of cartoon film of Annecy ( FIFA ) created in 1960 is held at the beginning of June in the town of Annecy. Initially every two years, the festival becomes annual in 1998. The festival is a competition between cartoon films (of various techniques: cut out cartoons, papers, modeling clay, etc) classified in various categories:

  • feature-length films,
  • short films,
  • films of order (production for television, advertizing film, etc),
  • films of school and end of studies,
  • films carried out for Internet (since 2002).

Throughout all festival, in addition to films in competition diffused in various cinemas of the city, a night projection in the open air is organized on Pâquier, in the center town, vis-a-vis the lake and with the mountains. According to the topic of the festival, are projected there on giant screen of “old” films or recent (in 2003, Pink Floyd The Wall , Corto Maltese, secret court of the Mysteries , in 2000, South Park , in 1993 Porco Rosso ), and Saturday evening, all the prize list.
