International federation of sports shirt

The International federation of sports shirt ( Federation off International Sports shirt in English) (or FIP ) of national federations in 1982 having for vocation is a founded association to manage and develop the Polo in the world. Its seat is located in France, with Vineuil-Saint-Firmin. It gathers 48 national associations.

History

Very old discipline, the sports shirt missed international structure a long time. This gap was filled in April 1982 with the foundation of the FIP. Its first president was Argentinian Marcos Uranga. There remain ten years in function before passing the relay to the American Glen Holden. Since 2005, the French Patrick Guerrand-Hermes chairs the FIP.

The FIP organizes the first World cup of sports shirt in 1987. It disputes every three years.

Since 1998, the FIP is recognized officially by the International Olympic committee.
