International federation of haltérophilie

The International federation of haltérophilie ( International Weightlifting Federation in English) (or IWF ) of national federations in 1905 having for vocation is a founded association to manage and develop the Haltérophilie in the world. Its seat is located in Hungary. In 2007, it gathers 177 national associations.

History

The first version of this international federation goes up in 1905 with an organization grouping fight and haltérophilie. It is only in 1920 that the current federation is created with Paris by Jules Rosset. There remains about it the president of 1920 with 1937 then of 1946 with 1952. The Federation sets up a coding of the current movements starting from 1920 pennies the impulse of its president who signs the first lawful code.

The IWF organizes the Championnats of the world of haltérophilie since 1922.
