International federation of baseball
The International federation of baseball " International Baseball Federation in English - IBAF ) is the federation managing the Baseball on a world level. Its seat is with Lausanne, in Suisse. The IBAF was chaired by the Italian Aldo Notari until its death the July 25th 2006.
History
The IBAF was founded in 1938. This federation changed several times of names. In 1944, it is famous International federation of baseball amateur (FIBA). In 1973, a scission takes place with the creation of the rival Federación Mundial de Béisbol Amateur (FEMBA). The two federations amalgamate in 1976 and adopt the name of International Baseball Association (AINBA). Acronym IBA is adopted in 1984 with a return towards its name and its initials of origin in 2000.
Organization
112 nations are members of the IBAF through five continental confederations ( to see Baseball in the world): African Baseball & Softball Association (ABSA) in Africa, Baseball Confederation off Oceania (BCO) in Oceania, Baseball Federation off Asia (BFA) in Asia, Confederación Panamericana de Béisbol (COPABE) in America and European Confederation of baseball (CEB) in Europe.
