International ecological reserve Thomas-Sterry-Hunt

The ecological Réserve international Thomas-Sterry-Hunt is located on the border of the Quebec and the Maine. This site, which is prolonged of both side of the border, protects from the typical peat bogs of the area of the the Appalachian Mountains. The name of the reserve pays homage to Thomas Sterry Hunt (1826 - 1892), which taught chemistry and mineralogy with the Universités Laval and McGill like with the Massachusetts Institute off Technology. It published more than 300 scientific articles on chemistry and geology.
