International circuit of Sepang
The International Circuit of Sepang is the circuit used for the Grand Prix of Malaysia of Formule 1. It is also used for other events of sport motorized like the MotoGP.
This go is regarded as a standard, with respect to the other Grands Prix, with immense technical complexes and of press, and vast stands. However, some complain that the track is inserted little by little. That is due to the fact that the track is built on the site of an old marsh.
It was conceived, as well as the new circuits of Shanghai (international Circuit of Shanghai) and of Bahrain (international Circuit of Bahrain), by the German architect Hermann Tilke.
Principal circuit
The principal circuit, normally borrowed in the direction of the needles of a watch, is a 5,543 km length and is characterized by its fast curves and its long straight lines. The provision is rather unusual, with a very long straight line, connected to the straight line of the stands by a very tight hairpin. It is used for the Grand Prix of Formula 1 and the Grands Prix motor bike, in addition to the local or regional competitions.
Northern circuit
Also borrowed in the direction of the needles of a watch, the northern circuit corresponds to first half of the principal circuit. The race returns on the straight line of the stands after the turn number 6, having thus a 2.41 km length.
Southern circuit
The southern circuit corresponds to other half of the principal circuit. The second straight line is used as straight line of the stands when the southern circuit is used. It joined the principal circuit after the turn number 8, thus forming a hairpin.
Other events
The international circuit of Sepang is also used for competitions of Kart and Motocross.
