International airport Khomeini Imam

The international airport Imam Khomeini فرودگاهبینالمللیامامخمینی|Forudgāh-e beynolmelali Emam Khomeini

is located at 30 kilometers in the south of Teheran, Iran. It was built in order to replace the airport Mehrabad, in the west of the city and today inside the limits of the city. The airport, whose construction had been envisaged before the Iranian Révolution, had originally as a name Ahmadabad , but it was named according to the name of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
