International airport Blaise Diagne

The international airport Blaise Diagne is an airport in construction with Diass, to forty kilometers in the South-east of Dakar (Senegal).

History

The first stone was posed on April 4th 2007 by President Abdoulaye Wade.

Its name was selected in homage to Blaise Diagne, politician and former mayor of Dakar.

The cost of construction is estimated at 235 billion Francs CFA. The duration of the work could be 30 months.

The airport should accommodate in the long term 1,5 per annum million passengers.
