International Virtual Aviation Organization

The network IVAO (International Virtual Aviation Organization) is an worldwide organization allowing to the amateurs improvement and flight simulations to have air monitoring services in real-times as well as training courses.

Presentation

IVAO is a non-profit organization. It is subdivided by great world areas then by country. Certain countries created divisions which are then cut out according to the aeronautical areas. For example, France (http://fr.ivao.aero/) has its own division divided according to the six FIR (LFFF Paris, LFRR Brest, LFBB Bordeaux, LFMM Marseilles, LFEE Rheims, SOOOA In addition to Mer).

To belong to network IVAO, it is necessary beforehand to be registered by Internet. An identifier and access codes are then communicated by network IVAO and will be used as identifier for this connecting later on. (http://www.ivao.aero/members/person/register.htm)

It is possible then possible to pass from the examinations theoretical and practical to acquire higher gallons either as a pilot, or as a controller (ATC) or for the two functions. The network rests on waiters for connections of the members of the network. The pilots use flight simulators such as Flight Simulator of Microsoft or X-Plane of Laminar Research to accomplish flights on the network and of the complementary software for vocal connections.

The controllers use mainly two application softwares on network IVAO to knowing IvAc for air control and TEAM Speak for the voice communications with the pilots. The operating rules try to be as close as possible to reality in particular with regard to the control of the planes in flights or on the ground but also in the respect of the procedures.

Software of connection

To connect itself to the network:

- As a pilot

  • IvAp - (compatible FS2002, FS2004, FSX)
  • X-IvAp - (compatible X-Plane)

- As a controller

  • IvAc - (software of control IVAO)

- To dialog between controller and pilot

  • TeamSpeak

- To observe on the network

  • IvAe
  • Dolomynum

Other networks

There are other networks of simulation which coexist with IVAO, such as GlobalSim, VATSIM and FPI.
