International School of audio-visual creation and realization
The international School of audio-visual creation and realization (Eicar) is an private establishment of higher technical education of the sound and image (in other words, a school of cinema and audio-visual) founded by Jean-Paul Vuillin and currently directed by Robert Baquiast, located at the Plain-Saint-Denis since 2005.
History
In 1972, Jean-Paul Vuillin, person in charge of the cinema of the Arts center free-native of Niger with Niamey, constitutes there on an idea shared with Jean Rouch, a training center with the trades of the cinema, which it will animate personally. he carries out some films of which that on " the National museum of Niger" (Cineclub of the French Co-operation).Two years later, of return to Paris, it creates " Actorat of the Cinema (" ACTORAT" is a registered trademark with the INPI by J-Paul Vuillin) with " Américan Center" from Paris, mainly dedicated to the training of the actors who intend themselves for a cinematographic career, by distingant the various work methods that there is between " cinéma" and " théatre". It also creates other departments for the cinema: " writing of scénario" , " réalisation" and " production" , and a section " JRI" (Journalist-Defer-in Images). In 1997 Christina Reid becomes managing limited liability company EICAR in Paris, and opens four BTS Audiovisuelles (Its, Image, Montage, and Administration and Production)… Mr. Georges Touati is officially named " Chief of Établissement". In 2000 an anglophone international department is created with the EICAR which takes for trade name: " EICAR, International The Film School off Paris". In November 2003, Jean-Paul Vuillin creates the limited liability company " EICAR-Cherbourg" , and four BTS Audiovisuels install (Image, Its, Montage and Production), as well as other departments: " Réalisation" , " ACTORAT" , " Animé" drawing;. " EICAR-Cherbourg" becomes tenant of part of the old Maritime Military hospital (" Rene Lebas"), rehabilitated in " center formations". Mr. David Amsalem (former student of the FEMIS (School of STATE), and professor of the EICAR), is named " Chief of établissement" during two years (2003/2005) and is succeeded in its functions by Mr. Rémy Janville (College Janson de Sailly in Paris) in October 2005. In September 2006, the establishment cherbourgeois cease its activities. In 2005, the EICAR of Paris is established on the Park " Icade-EMGP" of the Plain-Saint-Denis, place which gathers 80% of the televisual plates of France, as well as many production companies of cinema and television, technical people receiving benefits, written press and audio-visual, etc… In 2007 Mr. Robert Baquiast becomes managing EICAR, and Mr. Bob Swaim Franco-American realizer is named director of the International Department whose diplomas are the " Bachelors off Fine Arts" and " Masters off Fine Arts" (international vat +5): (EABHES). Each year, the EICAR produces approximately 300 short-measurings, films of publicity, the clips, etc… 2007: Nomination of a Scientific advice and Improvement made up of Academics and Professionals…
Formation
The EICAR is organized like a professional production unit with 12 formations mainly covering the whole of the trades of the cinema, audio-visual, journalism, and the multi-media one. The organization of its pedagogy is directed towards the training of work around a " work collective": permanently the pupils are confronted with realities of their future trade. In fact the whole of the trades " créatifs": writing, direction of actor, film music, as well as the whole of the technical and administrative trades (Image, Its, Assembly, Decorations, Costumes, Production, etc), are studied and into practice put during the various school years in order to ensure the quasi complete formation and most effective possible. The financial and commercial formations are also taught, but at the stage of the formation, they can be made only in theoretical forms. The EICAR prepares with audio-visual BTS, and also delivers European private diplomas delivered by the College European of Accreditation of the Universities and the Universities (in English EABHES). Diplomas EABHES are the Bachelor off Fine Arts (vat +3) and the Master off Fine Arts (vat +5) in production and realization. The courses of Master are exempted in English.70% of the lesson are practical lesson ensured by professionals (producing, various scenario writers, realizers, musicians, actors, technicians, etc…)
Each school year, each pupil written Realizer and his own film turns, out of FD (at least); 24 projects being selected to be turned in 16mm (1st year), super 16 (2°année), 35mm or HD (3°année). Each one also takes part in several other films on different stations: a pupil of the section realization must hold not only the creative roles which its future trade calls, but also to ensure of the technical trades such as the image, the sound, the assembly, the production, logistics, etc on other films…. Approximately 300 films of all kinds are produced and carried out with the EICAR each year by the whole of the students. These films are projected on Large-Screen in front of public various, and professional ones…
The EICAR also developed university partnerships " actifs" abroad in particular with the USA, Russia, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Africa, etc It accommodates more than 60 nationalities of students coming from all the continents, and by-product certain projects with its international partners…
