International One-day

A match One-day International (or ODI) is a type of match of Cricket played between two national teams. It is held over only one day. In this form of cricket, the number of balls launched by a team is limited. It is this format of match which is used for the World cup of cricket and the ICC Champions Trophy in particular.

The first ODI was played the January 5th 1971 between the Australia and the England with Melbourne.

Particular rules

  • Each of the two teams has a limited number of throws. Currently, a sleeve consists of 50 overs of 6 balls chacuns, that is to say 300 throws in all by team. In the past, certain matches were played with handles of 60 overs.

  • Each Bowler can launch to the maximum only ten overs.
