International Mobile Subscriber Identity
The International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) is a single number, which allows a network GSM or UMTS to identify a user. This number is stored in the chart SIM respectively USIM and is not known of the user. To reach this one, one will provide him a number MSISDN.
Format
The format of the IMSI follows the plan of standard classification E.212 of UIT and is in the following way made up:
- MCC or Mobile Country Codes. It is the code of the country of origin (example, 228 for Switzerland, 208 for France,…)

MNC or Mobile Network Codes. It is the code of the Opérateur network (01 for Swisscom Mobile, 02 for Sunrise, 03 for Orange,…)

MSIN or Mobile Subscriber Number Identification. It is the number of the subscriber inside network GSM
- H1 H2 (2 digits) can be used to give the address of HLR of the corresponding subscriber.
