International Celestial Refers System
ICRS , for International Celestial Refers System (celestial frame of reference international), is a whole of conventions adopted by the international astronomical Union to standardize the equatorial Frame of reference. It definite orientation of the celestial poles and the Not vernal thanks to the data collected within the framework of ICRF. The ICRS was adopted by the UAI in 1997 during its 23e general meeting and is into force since January 1st 1998.
In the ICRS, the center of the celestial Sphère is the Barycentre Solar system, within the meaning of the General relativity. The precision reached in the orientation of the poles and the vernal point is about the thousandths of Seconde of arc. The Catalog Hipparcos was the first to be expressed in coordinates ICRS.
