International BirdLife

international Birdlife is a Governmental organization (ONG), of international scale, with vocation of protection of nature and Oiseau X in particular.

International Birdlife federates other ONG and thousands of naturalists amateurs, as well as ecologist S and Ornithologue S professionals, scientists, managers of the nature conservation.

The objective is to allow international solutions the total environmental problems, for example for the protection of the migratory birds which must be at the same time local and total.

International Birdlife is an interlocutor of the local authorities, governments and international organizations. It produces scientific data and offers expertises on the conservation of the birds and the restoration, protection and management of their habitats and living conditions. From 2003 to 2006, Birdlife International for example actively defended the idea that the migratory birds were not the 1st risk for the diffusion of the avian flu, but that poultry industry could be with the source of the problem and its diffusion, probability that FAO officially recognized on May 22nd, 2006.

Beyond the topic of the birds, association wants more largely to contribute to the environmental protection which is the condition so that the avifauna survives and can normally live. ONG profits from the support of several million people in the world.

The Ligue for the protection of the birds is the official representative of international Birdlife for the France, since 1993.

Priority international objectives

  • To avoid all new disappearance of species of wild birds.

  • To take care of the statute of conservation of all the species of birds and their vital habitats.
  • To identify the networks of sites " of importance vitale" for the maintenance of the diversity of the birds and to ensure their protection.
  • To encourage a development bearable and balanced in any use necessary of the natural resources.
  • To federate in a world network the organizations having the same objectives and to unify their programs and strategies
  • To promote, in the world, the discovery and the interest for the conservation of the birds which contribute to the world biodiversity.
  • To help the countries to respect conventions and international treaties of conservation of the Environment.
