International Association off Athletics Federations

LInternational Association off Athletics Federations is an international association of the federations of Athlétisme. Its abbreviation is IAAF' and decides “I2AF”.

History

The IAAF was founded in 1912 with Stockholm under the name of International Amateur Athletics Federation . The current name dates from the congress of 2001, when the members decided to replace the word amateur by association off . The IAAF is based with Monaco since the month of October 1983. Previously, its seat was with London.

Ranking

the IAAF separately establishes a classification for each test as well as a overall ranking (total classification of all the athletes, men and women separate). This classification is based on a table of points ( scoring table ). For example, somebody who runs the 100 m in 10" 00 will obtain a score of 1.215 points, this score still will be a little modified according to the climatic conditions, of the level of the competition and other points can also be added if it is about world records.
