Intercontinental caravan

The intercontinental Caravane is a walk, a caravan organized in Europe where 500 people whose 400 Indian peasants came to expose their problem vis-a-vis the liberal Mondialisation and to explain their situation in front of the decision-making centres.

From May 22nd to June 20th, 1999, 500 activists, peasants, Trade unionist S, ecologist S and " without-terre" come mainly from India but also from Argentina, from Brazil, from Colombia, Kenya, Bangla Desh, Nepal, Ukraine, Chile… cross the continents, come to express in front of the great centers of being able: seats of multinationals, financial institutions, organizations of international policies (Brussels and Geneva) and in the last the conclusion of cancellation the campaign of the Debt of the third world to the G8 of Cologne.

They also come to meet the other popular organizations, in particular country associations members of Via campesina, such as for example the Peasant confederation in France, the FUGEA in Belgium

Logistics

The continental caravan was coordinated by the world Action of the people. It is for the peasants and the people of the " Sud" to compare with the world Walk women or the European Steps against unemployment, although this caravan encountered different logistic problems: it was a question of financing the voyage of representatives to the modest incomes of associations of the Third world.
