A micronation (also named cryptarchie by Bruno Fuligni) is an entity, created by a small number of people, which claims with the statute of a independent Nation or which into present certain characteristics. Some are created very seriously (Hutt River in Australia for example) while others are purely imaginations or folk (the République of Saugeais for example).
Generally of small size (geographically and démographiquement), the micronations are generally characterized by a will of recognition of their Souveraineté, via emission of Passeport S, stamps, Monnaie and titles of nobility. For the majority, for lack of external recognition, they exist only on Papier or Internet.
They should not be confused with State S of small size - also called Microphone-State S - fully recognized, like San Marino, Andorre, Monaco, the Liechtenstein or the the Vatican.
