Inter mutual insurance companies assistance (IMA) is a Société of assistance created in 1981 following the will of 3 Mutuelle S of insurance (MAIF, MAAF and MACIF) to join to create their own company of assistance.

History

Company IMA was born in January 1981 on the initiative of three mutual insurance companies MAIF, MAAF and MACIF.

Thereafter of many mutual insurance companies joined the IMA: MAPA, SMACL, followed MATMUT, MAE, AGPM, MFA and the Mutual of the Motorcyclists.

Today, the IMA offers its services of assistance to 38 million ensured of the mutual insurance companies and more than 50 million people through companies and communities having chosen the IMA to conclude their operations of assistance in France or throughout the world.

The IMA has six subsidiary companies established abroad: the Germany, the Belgium, the Spain, the Italy, the the United Kingdom and the Morocco.

June 26th, 2007, the MAAF stops its partnership with the IMA, within the framework of a logic of bringing together with MY and the GMF, the new business of assistance with which the MAAF will treat from now on is Fidélia assistance (partner of MY and GMF), which should involve a fall of the activity of IMA from approximately 15%.
La MAAF remains however customer of IMA for the Domicile assistance and Habitat, although customer also of another Company of Assistance Residence and Habitat (Multiassistance).

Services

Inter Mutuelles Assistance proposes the majority of the services of the field of the assistance to the policy-holders. One can in particular quote the medical help and of repatriation, the legal assistance and even the remote monitoring of the residence.
