Intelligentsia
Intelligentsia , of the Polish “ intelligentja ”, is a Social class committed in a complex work of creation and dissemination of the Culture, accompanied by the artists and the teachers.
Origin of the term
In its initial significance, intelligentsia corresponds a certain class of intellectuals in Poland and Russia to the 19th century.
The term was popularized by the Polish philosopher Karol Libelt after the publication of its book O miłości ojczyzny in 1844. It defines l'" inteligencja" as the good educated which holds the knowledge such as the professors, the clergy, the engineers, and those which of their lights guide towards the reason .
Intelligentsia today
Intelligentsia corresponds to the intellectual elite of the Nation recognized and close to the capacity. It directs the scientific field and often has an important media relay.
