Taught disciplines

Public management is before a whole object of studies: the management of the public affairs. But the logic of public management exceeds this only field, it is also concerned with the life of associations, that of the companies which work narrowly with the public sector and in a way widened by all the organizations which are concerned with general interest. This new discipline is found in many sectors of the economy (local government agencies, social domain, health, environment, humanitarian, culture, tourism, leisures etc). It is pressed on three disciplinary fields (right, economy and management) and integrates the living languages, communication and information technologies, the data analysis, communication etc

History of the institute

The Academic institute professionnalized (IUP) of public management, functioning over three years, out of the two sites of Aix-en-Provence and Marseilles was created in 1996.

In 2004 the Diplôme of specialized higher learning of public management is transformed into diploma of Master. The Institute of public management and territorial governorship delivers today licenses, masters and doctorates.

With the re-entry 2007, the Institute opened Master " Economic intelligence and creation of valeur" , sponsored by the CIGREF, which is addressed to professionals wishing to add a competence in economic intelligence to their competence trade.

Outlets

The students and trainees can find outlets in the consular local government agencies, organizations, the state enterprises, the private companies intervening within the framework of public projects, associations, the companies of mixed economy etc

Research

The IMPGT also assumes a mission of research in sciences of public administration by the means of its Center of higher learning in public management (CESMAP) attached to the Institut of administration of the companies of Aix-en-Provence:

by organizing conferences on the fundamental stakes of the public office;
by directing the research tasks of its students towards the great contemporary interrogations.

In 2007, Solange Hernandez, lecturer to the IMPGT, obtained the first price of thesis in economic intelligence decreed by ANDESE and CIGREF, Bruno Tiberghien obtaining the second price.

Teaching body

Among the personalities intervening in the formations of the Institute, one can quote Claude Domeizel, Philippe Baumard, Raphaël Liogier (directing of the Observatory of the monk and professor of the universities with the IEP of Aix-en-Provence), Patrick Reix (managing director of the services of the Department of Loire-Atlantique), Claude Rochet (senior official and associated professor), Jean-Louis Reiffers or Jacques Bourdon, former president of the Université Aix-Marseilles III.
