Institute of electronics of micro-electronics and nanotechnology
The Institute of electronics, micro-electronics and nanotechnology or IEMN is an research institute whose central laboratory is located at Villeneuve d' Ascq close to Lille. The fields of research cover the Physique, the electronic , the microtechnologies as well as the nanotechnologies.
IEMN is a Mixed Unité of Research CNRS (8520) created on January 1st, 1992 by the National center of the scientific research (CNRS), the Université of sciences and technologies of Lille (USTL), the Université of Valencians and Hainaut Cambrésis (UVHC) and the Institute of higher learning of electronics and numerical the (ISEN).
The IEMN amalgamates three laboratories:
- the Center Ultra high frequencies and Semiconductors of the University of Sciences and Technologies of Lille, corresponding today to the Department DHS ,
- the Laboratory of Opto-Acousto-Electronics of the University of Valencians and Hainaut-Cambrésis, corresponding today to the Department OAE ,
- the Laboratory of Studies on Surfaces and Interfaces of the Institute of higher learning of Electronics and Numerical, corresponding today to the Department ISEN .
By gathering in a single structure the essence of regional research in these fields, IEMN constitutes a pole of European size.
