The Institute of arts of diffusion , in summary IAD , is a Belgian university which concerns the Higher education of Arts - Field of and the Technique Performing arts of diffusion and communication - and the delivered diplomas are approved by the State. The school is classified in the subsidized free teaching of the French Communauté of Belgium, it is located at Leuwen-the-New.
History
As of its creation in 1959, the Institute of Arts of Diffusion had as an ambition to organize a teaching which would embrace the whole of the disciplines coming under the fields of the Cinéma, of the Télévision, the radio, the Théâtre and, later, of new technologies of information. The IAD did not cease developing and diversifying progressively extension of arts of diffusion and spectacle.Classified initially in technical Higher education, the IAD initially concentrated its teaching around arts of diffusion: the cinema, television, the radio and the theater.
In 1964, the teaching of the IAD extends to the performing arts and the techniques from diffusion: setting in scene of theater, image, its, assembly and scripte.
In 1971, the orientation of the training given by the IAD involved its classification in artistic Higher education.
In 1997, vis-a-vis the development of new technologies of information, the IAD integrates a new discipline in its teaching: the multi-media one.
At September 1st 2003, 1.731 students finished the IAD.
