The Insectarium is an educational, cultural museum and scientist of Montreal, with the Quebec having for objective to sensitize the population in the world of the insects. It is largest Insectarium in America and one of most important in the world, accommodating annually nearly 400.000 visitors.

It was created in February 1990 under the impulse of the notary and entomologist Georges Brossard, which succeeds in convincing the mayor of the time, Jean Drapeau and the director of the Botanical garden, Pierre Bourque, to embark in the project.
