Inovallée
Launched in 1971 in the framework of economic town and country planning Grenoble-native, the Zone for the Innovation and the Achievements Scientific and Technical (ZIRST), today Inovallée , became one of the first Technopole S in France, on approximately 110 hectares of grounds, with more than 270 companies and 8300 uses In 2005, primarily in the field of new technologies. It extends on the communes from Meylan and Montbonnot.
The objectives of his/her founding fathers were the following:

to support the establishment of companies in highly technological matter,
- to support the relations between Research, the University and Industry,
- to continue the creation of a basin of uses of future,
- to preserve at the zone an environmental character of quality, and not polluting,
- to integrate the life of this zone in the daily life of the commune or of its surroundings.
The ZIRST was thus one of the first parks with vocation of high technology created in France, with Sophia Antipolis.
This zone changed name into 2005 and is called from now on Inovallée, Ground of Innovation . Him the name of " is also given; Silicon Valley" European.
