Inko

Inko is one of the words Basque S indicating God . One finds it in the popular speech of the area of Ainhoa (Labourd/Lapurdi). One especially uses it in the formulas to swear, just as his alternative ( Ala Jinkoa! , Went Inka! ). It was said that it was a derivative of the form of Jinko which is employed in the Baztan, Low-Navarre and Soule.

Etymology

Jinko means " God " out of Basque (it is the term most frequently used into Drunk in particular). Elsewhere one says rather Jaungoiko (Lord of the sky) to speak about God. It is thought that the origin of this word would be Jauninko and Jainko which one finds in inscriptions on funerary steles going back to before the XII E century.

Note

There does not exist kind ( male , female ) in the Basque language and all the letters decide. There is thus no association as for French or WHICH decides KI . Jaungoiko decides: ianegoïkou
