Inhibition of contact

The Inhibition of contact is the fact that many normal cells or drifting of normal cells (in particular of the epithelial cells ), put in culture, multiply until they formed a simple Couche. Protéine S of junction are established between these cells and cause the blocking of the cellular divisions when the cells enter in close contact the ones with the others (from where the term of inhibition of contact).

A study of the cancerous cell S in Culture revealed that the signals which normally make cease the growth do not have any effect on them. More particularly, the cancer cells in culture are insensitive to the inhibition of contact .

This blocking utilizes intracellular cascades of indication on the basis of these proteins of junction (in particular the Cadhérine S and the Sélectine S) and leading on proteins of control of the cellular proliferation.

The cancer cells generally continue to divide even after they formed a simple layer.
