Infogrames

Infogrames Entertainment SA (or IESA ) is a French company of edition and distribution of video games, founded in 1983 by Bruno Bonnell and Christophe Sapet.

It chose like advertizing Logo a Tatou because of the perenniality of this animal, which exists for a long time during the history of the alive one. This logo, fixed to the beginnings of the company, is currently presented in 3D and rotation on its recent productions. Like that of Windows, this logo grows rich more and more by details during time.

In addition to the plays, the company also marketed a time of the automatic dialling units of videotex page on PC for the Minitel services, driving out with the passage the expensive specialized apparatuses FIET which were used for this function.

Multiplication of acquisitions: the British Ocean Software and Gremlin, the étatsuniens, Interactive Accodance, WP Interactive, Paradigm, Hasbro and Shiny Entertainment, the debt reaches 540 million euros, its load made overdrawn all the financial years, making fall the course of the action out of purse of 51,60 euros in June 2000 to 0,80 in 2002. Many of its credits are resold.

The May 7th 2003, Infogrames takes again the name of Atari.

November 15th, 2006, at the conclusion of the general meeting, the plan of recapitalisation which envisages a capital growth of 74 million euros, followed by an public offering of exchange aiming at the convertible bonds or exchangeable in actions new or existing (Océanes) which represent one incur of 124,3 million euros, is accepted (reduction of the debt of infogrames). The funds of British investment BlueBay holds 20% of the capital. It is, by far, the first shareholder and has two seats of administrators.

April 5th, 2007, the board of directors of Infogrames decides departure of Bruno Bonnell as chairman. Patrick Leleu replaces it at this station

Today Infogrames has a principal studio based in Lyon (Eden Ranges) and passed from a statute of developer to that of editor and distributer
