Inflorescence
see also: Etymology of Inflorescence
The inflorescence is the provision of the Fleur S on the Tige of a plant to flower. This provision is often characteristic of a family, for example the spadice of the Aracée S, and sometimes its name gave him: the Apiacée (ombelles), the Astéracée (flowerheads). Sometimes in the inflorescences, the simple flowers tend to specialize. It is the case in particular in the flowerheads whose peripheral flowers, carry a ligula which simulates the Pétale of flowers simple.
One distinguishes the indefinite inflorescences and the definite inflorescences , according to whether the main axis of the inflorescence is finished by a bud or a flower.
Indefinite Inflorescence (or unspecified)
In an indefinite inflorescence, the main axis ends in a bud and lengthens, in theory indefinitely, by laterally emitting flowers or secondary axes carrying of the flowers. In fact the flowers of the base open the first, the other flowers open successively base towards the top. The type of the indefinite inflorescence is the Grappe.| Random links: | Douglas Jim | Apollo 15 | Viktoria Mullova | Large Sabana (Puerto Rico) | Charles Maucourt de Bourjolly | Grammaire_anglaise |
