Ineligibility

The ineligibility is said when a request does not fill the requirements. Within the framework of the electoral code, the concept indicates the incapacity to aspire to an electoral mandate.

The term can apply to situations which are not political, but which can be of technical order: a telephone line is known as ineligible with the service of Internet by ADSL if its technical qualities are insufficient.

The electoral causes of ineligibility can be:

; legal: there exists a certain number of legal criteria to respect to be eligible, such as for example the age, nationality, the place of residence.

; legal: certain legal judgments prevent from arising to some or all the elections, for a given period.
