Industrial technology and sciences
See also: TSI
Technology and industrial sciences (shortened in TSI ) is a way of orientation of study after the vat, in France.
These preparatory classes function in the same way as the traditional classes prépas intended for the graduates S option SVT (Life sciences and Earth) or IF (Engineerings).
The studies last 2 years: 1st year: maths sup TSI 1 and 2nd year: maths spé TSI 2 ; (and to reinforce its results, it is possible to remake a second year (5/2)).
At the conclusion of these two years, there are the entrance examinations at the schools of engineers. The duration of the studies in these schools is 3 years. The tests of the contests are often specific to students TSI, thus the pupils are not in direct competition with the others prépas (MP, PC, PSI, Pt) not intended for the graduates S; moreover, places at the entries of the schools are reserved to the students of die TSI. There are two principal contests:
-
Power station-Supélec/Mine-Bridges-X/ENSAM whose written tests are gathered
- CCP/ENS Cachan whose written tests are gathered
The class of TSI is opened to the following graduates:
- electronic Engineering
- electrotechnical Genius
- mechanical Engineering
- Genius of the materials
- energy Civil engineering
- Genius
- optical Genius
-
Baccalaureat sciences and technologies of laboratory option:
- Physical of laboratory
History
These classes were create in 1977 by Lionel Stoléru, Secretary of State near the Minister for Labor, in order to allow the pupils having a technological baccalaureat to reach the Universities of engineers on the same basis as the scientific graduates. The wish of the government of the time was to promote technical education and more to limit it to diplomas of the bac+2 type. The old denomination of these classes were MT before being seen made out TSI in 1995 (application to the re-entry 1995).
