Indonesia AirAsia , in the past Awair (Air International Coach), is an airline company Indonesia at low prices based in Jakarta. It exploits interior roads. It is a subsidiary company of the company Malaysia AirAsia.

History

Awair was created in 1999 by Abdurrahman Wahid, old directing of the Muslim organization Nahdatul Ulama, just before he becomes president of the Republic. It started in 2000 with apparatuses Airbus but had to stop its operations in 2002. Awair then took again its activity in partnership with AirAsia in 2004, which holds 49% of its capital today.

Awair changed its name into Indonesia AirAsia in December 2005, in harmony with the other subsidiary companies of AirAsia in Southeast Asia.
