Indian Sub-continent
The sub-continent Indien is a Geographical area of the South Asia, still called Hindoustan or cisgangetic India formerly, where are the following countries:
- the Bangladesh (*)
- the Bhutan (*)
- the Burma (more often attached to the Southeast Asia)
- the India (*)
- the Maldives (*)
- the Nepal (*)
- the Pakistan (*)
- the Sri Lanka (*)
Historically, the Afghanistan was influenced by the Indian world, and it is sometimes attached to this one.
The notion of Sous-continent is based on the fact that this area rests on a clean tectonic plate, separated of the remainder of the Asia. The southern part of this area forms enormous a Péninsule, while the northern part is separated from the Central Asia by the Himalayan chain which represents a cultural and geographical barrier with the remainder of Asia.
Some of these countries, located not an asterisk, are members of the ASACR or South-Asian Association for the Regional Co-operation .
