In tomorrow, Sylvie

At tomorrow, Sylvie is a Romance of Henri Troyat. It follows Viou . This book left 6 years after Viou and will be followed the Third happiness in (1987).

History

In this second book of the academician Henri Troyat, Viou of his true name Sylvie is 15 years old… Young teenager, it learns how to admire her professor of dance, Mrs Baranova whom it will use as model for her career of principal dancer! She thinks already names of scene, she is in a dream but his/her parents do not stop putting to him sticks in the wheels with its school results which are poor… But its attachment with the dance will make that it will be stronger than all these things and it will fight!

The day of its 16th birthday, it obtains the authorization to leave out of box with her brother-in-law, Pascal. The latter will decide to turn over to the apartment of the mother of Pascal where there is nobody, they go by this fact, to be discovered a love one for the other…

The question is: “Will they acknowledge it with their parents? Will this couple last for always? Does it go carried out its dream? ”

Sylvie

Sylvie lived her childhood in Puy with her grandmother, it agreed to be called " Viou" but 7 years after, in Paris where it is 15 years old, it refuses to be named thus! Sylvie is impassioned by the dance and admires her professor, Mrs Baranova, a former principal dancer!

The death of his/her father makes that Sylvie has difficult to accept that a foreigner, Xavier, replace his father-in-law and deals with its education!

And it is disgusted with the idea that his/her mother agrees to make love with this foreigner… It with the impression that his/her mother of fout consequently of his/her late husband!

Other main characters

  • Pascal : The son of Xavier and thus the brother-in-law of Sylvie. Secretly, the small-friend of this one
  • Xavier : The father-in-law of Sylvie, one does not count any more the number of arguments between them two. But to finish, it will understand that it appreciates it enormously.
  • Mdm Baranova : Russian and former recognized principal dancer, it is currently the professor of dance of Sylvie. She is an image for Sylvie and will want to resemble to him.
  • Julie : whose nickname is Jilou, is the mother of Sylvie.

Supporting characters

  • Olivier : Although this character is at the origin of the third book " Third Bonheur" , in this second part of the Viou trilogy, it will be only secondary with the history. It has artistic talents and does not hesitate to make them divide in Sylvie.

  • the mother of Pascal : She appears only towards the end of the novel, to announce her departure for New York.
