In heart joy is a movement international choral rested by the type-setter César Geoffray. He is member of the federation Europa Cantat.

History

With heart joy was born from the meeting of César Geoffray, Humaniste and Musicien, and of a group of young people wanting to sing for an emission of radio in 1940. He writes some songs, theirs learns, their fact of singing, and publishes them in a booklet which he entitles In heart joy . It receives requests for other booklets.

César Geoffray found an application of the principles of Albert Gleizes: “an entire art offered to the service of the men without musical culture, which knows according to the needs for the hour, to be done simple as a ground plate…” Of many young people are found behind him; thus will be born With heart joy, with its method, its training courses of pedagogy, its repertory, and later its editions.

The movement structure while becoming an association of the law of 1901 in 1948. The singers are divided on all the French territory but also in many countries of Europe.

In 1950 takes place a first gathering of seven hundred young people with Chamarande.

After a meeting between César Geoffray and Théo Desplans, mayor of Vaison-the-Roman, the movement In heart joy brings together his members in this city in which a Roman theater is able to accommodate a great number of participants.

In 1953, the first Choralies are organized with Vaison-the-Roman. They take place since every three years; twentieth will take place in 2010.

In 1975 take place the first Cantillies, gathering of the children from eight to fourteen years. They also take place every three years. 2008 will see the eleventh edition of this festival.

Organization

Organized since 1948 pennies the form of an association of the law of 1901, the movement In heart joy profits from the recognition of public utility.

In France of the adherent choral societies are present on the whole of the territory and gather within regional confederations. This decentralized organization turns into to movement In heart joy an interlocutor recognized by the regional or departmental public authorities.

in Algeria, with the Morocco, the Lebanon, in Israel.

The persons in charge of the organizations of the various countries being claimed of In heart joy were brought together in an international counsel which took the form of an association of French right, In international heart joy. She is recognized like nongovernmental international organization (OING) by the International organization of the francophonie.
