Importation
see also: Etymology of Importation
A importation is an entry in a country of goods or services coming from another country.
These goods can be:
- of the tangible and storable properties. For example of the memories of holidays;
- of the services (nonstorable immaterial goods). For example the hairdresser provides services.
For this other country, the operation is a Exportation.
The importation is generally an operation favorable to the Consommateur (more great choice of products, better competition on the prices) and a pivot Compétitivité for the producing S.
In addition, because of economic Universalization, two flows are often closely dependant (ex: matter importation and components and re-exportation of end products)
In France, the imports represent in 2005 54% of the consumption of manufactured goods.
