Implosion

The implosion is the reverse of the Explosion. It occurs when the external pressure with an object is larger than that inside and than this difference is enough large to break the mechanical resistance of this last. It occurs suddenly at the point of rupture of resistance and projects the remains towards the interior of the object.

Examples:

  • a Cathode tube implose when the external pressure becomes too large.
  • the Bombe has uses the principle of the implosion to compress the fissionable material in order to obtain the Chain reaction.
