Imanol Harinordoquy

Imanol Harinordoquy , born on February 20th, 1980 with Bayonne (Yrénées-Atlantiques), is a player of Rugby to XV French which begins Rugby at the fifteen years age after having practiced the Tennis, the Judo, the Natation and the Football. He plays in team of France and evolves/moves at the station of third line centers within the manpower of the Olympic Biarritz.

He grew with Saint-Jean-Foot-of-Port with the Basque Country but, obliged to leave its city to study, he joined the Section paloise where he appears very young at the sides of his friend and future fellow-member biarrot Damien Traille. To trust of its roots Basques, he is the godfather of his formative club the US Nafarroa, champion of Fédérale 2 in 2005 - 2006.

In 2006, it forms a third line of shock within the Olympic Biarritz, with Serge Betsen, Thierry Dusautoir and Thomas Lièvremont. This complementarity was tested besides during the test match vis-a-vis the team of South Africa in June 2006.

Holder since the Tournament of the six nations 2002, it leaves Patrick Tabacco in the shade. Very skilful of its hands, it impressed by its facility to be made forget on the opposite wing and by its capacity to conclude the action by a test. Its notoriety, its ease made of it a semi-official vice-captain at the time of the world cup 2003 and the object of many press coverages (of which a publicity for the airline company Australienne Qantas). Its complementarity with Olivier Magne and Serge Betsen made it possible the team of France to very have a third line of high level at the time of this competition.

On the decline starting from the end of this world cup, it lost its place in selection with the profit of Sebastien Chabal, Julien Bonnaire then his fellow-member and captain Thomas Lièvremont. Fortunately its very good performances of second part of the season 2005-2006 enabled him to return in the France group and to take part in the victories vis-a-vis the Romania but especially vis-a-vis in South Africa. It will definitively reinstate the team of France at the time of the season 2006-2007 and will be thus selected for its second world cup. At the time of the match of opening against the Argentinian , it is established at the station of third line centers.
