Image Club of Épinal

The Dauphins of Épinal is a club of evolving/moving Hockey French this season in Ligue Magnus. The official name of the club is Image Club of Épinal .

History

Beginnings of hockey with Épinal (1906 - 1970)

The ancestor of the Image Club of Épinal was born in December 1906 and was called then Winter sports Spinaliens (SHS), insofar as the company gathered as well followers of the Figure skating as of the followers of hockey. All this small world this joined on the pond of Poissompré (called as that because of the fish multitude which it sheltered) which was at their disposal during the cold months. At that time, there was no question of competing with truths country of hockey like the Scandinavian Canada or countries, but rather to have fun between friends and of slackening. A first scission between skaters and hockeyor take place in 1909. The creation of this first team made up amongst other things by Jean Monvoisin and Lucien Grandclaude marked the rise to power of this discipline in the city of the images, a rise to power helped by the creation of an artificial skating rink which made dream the hockeyeurs and the presidents of the club such as: Jules Weiller, Fernand Industrial tribunal or Pierre Marchal.

The new skating rink and the first success (1970 - 1990)

The December 3rd 1970, the doors of the new skating rink built on the drained pond of Poissompré opened and on December 20th, the new infrastructure was inaugurated by the communal, prefectoral and departmental high ranking authorities. In 1973 the team is pulled by Jean Paul Hennet and the club of the winter sports of Épinal did not count less than 383 bachelors. It is in 1979 that the team of Épinal took down its first national title, that of champion of France of division 2 at the end one season incredible on the ice and outwards (as example at the time of the match against Dijon, the skating rink accommodated: 2300 spectators).
