IllumiNations is the first of a series of fires of artifices given starting from 1988 to the park EPCOT of Walt Disney World Resort.

The series of spectacle

The first IllumiNations was given on the lagoon of EPCOT the January 30th 1988.

In front of the success of this spectacle, IllumiNations was declined in a special version for the new year 1993 then a special version for Christmas, baptized Holiday IllumiNations .

In 1996, the September 21st, for the 25 years of Walt Disney World, a new version is elaborate: Illuminations 25 . The May 19th 1997 it is revised to reinstate classical music, it will be the " version B ". With the end of the celebration of the 25e birthday, this version B is hardly modified and re-elected IllumiNations 98, presented until the September 21st 1999. They will be all three presented in parallel with Holiday IllumiNations which stopped the September 20th 1998.

In 1999, the spectacle is again declined in a new special version for the new millenium: Illuminations: Reflections off Earth .

The spectacle

The principle of this fires of artifices is to commemorate the meeting of the nations around the lagoon of World Showcase. The music was produced by Don Dorsey and begins again to a large extent that of the spectacle has New World Fantasy of which entirety of act III.

Act III: Final

At the end of the spectacle music of " It' S.A. Small World " and the topic of General Electric were diffused to let the spectators disperse.

Variations

New year 1993

In 1993 at the time of the representation of the new year, shifted to reach the New Year's Day was presented. The song " We've Just Begun To Dream" was played during the calculation, followed by a version of " Auld Lang Syne " then again " We' ve Just Begun To Dream". Finally a selection of extracts of Bernard and Bianca with the country of the kangaroos was projected on the Fountain of the Nations, with the entry of World Showcase.

Holiday Illuminations

This spectacle was presented at the time of the period of Christmas instead of IllumiNations then IllumiNations 25 . Its principle is to commemorate done them of Christmas throughout the world with an American, European part and a Jewish part. The extract " Let There Be Peace one Earth" illuminations is diffused since 2005 after IllumiNations: Reflections off Earth during the period of Christmas.
