Ilka Schönbein

Originating in Darmstadt, Ilka Schönbein is the founder of the Théâtre Meschugge .

Disciple of the marionnettists Rudolph Steiner and Albrecht Roser its spectacles are strongly influenced by the Théâtre Yiddish.

Originating in Darmstadt, Ilka Schönbein was formed with the eurythmic dance of Rudolph Steiner which preaches the alliance of the heart and the gesture rather than the technique. She studied then with the marionnettist Albrecht Roser in Stuttgart. Its finished studies, it turned ten years with other companies before launching out on the roads with its own spectacles Métamorphoses , the King Grenouille (three different versions), the Voyage from winter on the topics of Franz Schubert and Heiner Müller.
