Biography

Ilene Barnes is born in the Années 1960 with Détroit (Michigan). When it is one year old, his/her parents settle with the Surinam, where his/her father works for the the World Health Organization in the Jungle Amazonia nne. She will then live with Barbados then with the Jamaica.

She studies then with the Smith College (Massachusetts), then traverses the clubs as singer of jazz. In 2000, it records a first album Set you free . In 2003 leaves Time its second album. She turns through all France (in particular with the Festival of the Old Plow). These songs Folk, its physique and its voice impressive are worth to him to be often compared with Tracy Chapman and to the artists of African Blues.

In 2006 Yesterday Comes , its third album leaves. It is followed in May 2007 by live, recorded with the radio FIP.
