Ildebrando Pizzetti
Ildebrando Pizzetti (Parma 1880 - Rome 1968) was a Compositeur Italy N.
Pizzetti followed its musical formation to the academy of Parma under Giovanni Tebaldini and was made known by the music of Nave according to Gabriele D' Annunzio, whose first execution was in Rome in 1908. The same Pizzetti year obtained the station of teaching of harmony and counterpoint to the academy of Florence, which it then directed from 1917 to 1923.
After having composed the music for the drama Pisanella according to Gabriele D' Annunzio, the Mass of Requiem and other compositions important, he became director of the academy of Milan in 1924, station which he left in 1936 to take the position of the professor of composition of the Académie of Holy Cecile to Rome.
In 1939 Pizzetti was named Académicien of Italy and in 1949 it took the direction of the Académie of Holy Cecile. Its design of the musical drama is based on the idea of an absolute balance between the words and the music, which it carries out in the tragedy Assassinio nella cattedrale ( Assassin in the cathedral ), according to Thomas Stearns Eliot.
Pizzetti was also director of the Musique section of the Enciclopedia Italiana (1925-37).
