Ikon (group)

Biography

The group was formed into 1991 of ashes of another Gothic group, Death in the Dark , by the singer/guitarist and member of the Église of Satan Chris McCarter, of the bass player Dino Molinaro and the former singer Michael Carrodus.

In 1996, Ikon signs a contract of distribution with the American label Metropolis Records and their music attracts an assistance much more important apart from Australia. This carry out them thereafter to carry out rounds in Europe within several festivals of Gothic music, of which the Wave Gotik Treffen, and Waves off Darkness.

The members Chris McCarter (song, guitar) and Dino Molinaro (low) make a mixture seizing of Gothic music Darkwave, following in the traces of Joy Division and New Order with a key of Death In June .

The recent arrival within the group of an old friend, Anthony Cornish (guitarist at the time of the rounds), makes IKON the best export of the Gothic rock'n'roll of Australia.

Up to now, IKON played intensely in Australia as well as in Germany, in Belgium, in the United Kingdom, in Italy, in Switzerland, in Holland and in Denmark beside groups such as The Sisters off Mercy , H.I.M. , London After Midnight , Soft Concealment , Death In June , The Cruxshadows and The Mission .

IKON belongs to the members of Crash landing Frequency Collective, collective of Gothic industry groups/of Australia which share a common goal to help to support their music in the whole world.
